Nami Island + Singaporean cookout (2)

So yeap, I went back to Nami Island again haha even though I just visited it like last week? Cos I really wanted to zipline into Nami Island and my friends were going, so why not! And also now the autumn leaves will be more red than last week's!

So glad I went, the ziplining was AWESOME!!! But it ended way too fast haha but I really enjoyed myself though. So much so that my video did not even capture much of the scenery but if you're interested in hearing me scream you can click the play button on the video below LOL. And ziplining is 38,000w, so about SGD$38? I felt it was a reasonable price!

Group photo before ziplining!

 Me ziplining in hahah!
Damn funny cos you can see Yi Wei far behind me cos she too light so she moving much slower than me LOLLL

And then here comes the beautiful pictures!! So glad I went and got to experience Korea in fall. I think this is the first fall I have seen cos often I will be in school at this period that I can't come for holiday. So it's really a blessing, so so happy. I love fall!! "Nature's grand finale." ^^

I have more pictures but sadly they are all in my phone and my phone just died on me today. The screen is all black and i cannot see a thing. sighh so when I get it repaired or something I will update this space here with more pictures!

Recreating our busan jumpshot but wasn't very successful hahah

The next day we had a 2nd round of Singapore food cookout! It was a success, everything tasted so good! We had improvised chicken rice (buying cooked rice and just mixing the paste in it and reheating it LOL. Was so scared we will get stomachache but thankfully we did not!), Laksa rice( same way as the chicken rice), chicken curry, minced meat and tofu, hokkien mee, otak, tomato soup, kungpao veggies. SUPER GOOD FOODDDDD, my tummy is so satisfied. Sadly, the photos are in my phone also haha. So i will post it later too!

Tomato soup!

Kungpao Veggies~

Minced meat+Tofu:)

Hokkien mee (vermicelli style cos dont have yellow noodles here loll)

We decided to have some beanie day as well haha so all of us brought our beanies and we got some good pictures haha!
Not bad ah! Look like movie poster LOLLL

And we also celebrated Yi Wei, Shiying and Yiqin's birthdays! Happy happy birthday October babies~^^

Earlier in the day, I also went for the Seoul Nike run with my friends. We decided last minute to crash it (LOL) cos we tried signing up for it but they did not reply us or pick up our calls. Lol it was fun trying to figure out which route they took, which we did in the end, and manage to run in the race all the way till the end. Just a disclaimer, we did all this in good fun and we did not get the t-shirt free or anything, so we just basically ran like exercising, but following the route the runners took haha. The scenery at Yeouido park (which is the end point) was really beautiful also! Took pictures there as well, but yupp you guessed it right! IN MY PHONE ㅠㅠㅠ So guess you will see it soon haha.
Next week im finally going to Boseong green tea field! I CAN'T WAIT!! gonna get a lifetime supply of green tea there hahahaha!

Jeju!

So I finally have time to sit down and relax abit and update my blog. This post is way overdue by the way hahah I think my parents have already gone back to Singapore 2 weeks ago, but I only have time to post it now. Wonder why am I so busy even when I am on exchange?!! loll anyway I digress...

So the parents and I went on a 4 days 3 night trip to Jeju. The last time I have been to Jeju was in 2006? And I was kinda young so I don'r really remember much about the place, except that it has beautiful sceneries and the winds are crazy strong there. So we booked this taxi driver, he turned out to be a really pleasant surprise! His name is Mr Kim Nam Joo, and he even has a website dedicated to this job! You can go to www.ajeossitaxi.com to check it out! (He and his friends manage the blog). He is a really good tour guide and a nice man, often introducing us good places to go see and making sure we are always in comfort and all, so yeah you could consider contacting him if you're in Jeju! He speaks good English by the way so no worries!!

We visited a couple of places, but I can't remember all cos it was so long ago, and there were too many lolll. I did actually make a mental note of some places that I felt was worth visiting again if I ever come back again! (Speaking of which, I will be back there in December when my sister comes to visit loll)

So some of the places are Sangumburi Crater, Mysterious Road, Jusangjeolli Cliffs, Hallim Park, Seongsan Ilchubong. Yeap these are the few that I can recall off my head now lol and I think googling the names will have them appearing on your search engines!:)

Overall it was a pleasant trip, but I kinda feel Jeju is overrated haha. Like I really felt quite bored on some days cos most of the shops and attractions close once the sun sets, so I will be stuck in the hotel from 6pm all the way to the next day. luckily I brought my books to study cos I had mid terms the next week lol. Wise decision *pats on the back* And yupp I shall just let the pictures do the talking because first, im lazy to type anymore (and tired from a long day!) and second, i really don't know what else to write cos I cannot remember. TOO LONG AGO ALREADY LOLLL. Sorry for the disappointment if you're reading my blog. Like you must be thinking why blog when so lazy HAHAH. ok la, I will make more effort in my next post! :))

 Jeju folk village~
Sangumburi Crater.
This place is REALLY BEAUTIFULLL. Too bad I couldn't really capture the beauty on camera, you should go and see for yourself if you go to Jeju!

Jungmun Beach.
Hahah I think this was also where Secret Garden filmed one of their famous scene! There's this bench there with the poster of Hyun Bin and Ha Ji Won, cos they sat on the bench and kissed loll.

Seongsan Ilchubong.
This place is really beautiful too! Too bad I did not manage to climb all the way up cos my parents are there and they couldn't climb so high. I will probably attempt to go up on my next trip here!

Some random place along the roads where they just hang cuttlefish out like this to dry, SUPER COOL!!

Jusangjeolli Cliffs.
I love love love this place. I felt so relaxed just looking at the view and just be in awe of nature. Singapore doesn't have all these so I guess I appreciated it more cos of that.

O-Train!

I heard about this O-Train tourist thing from my friend who came on exchange to Korea last year. She din't get to try it though cos by the time she found out about it she was going home lol. So I went to check up on it cos I heard the scenery that we can see on the train is beautiful and knowing that my parents are the kind that prefer sceneries, relaxing trips over adventurous and fast-paced trips, I was really excited to bring them to see it. My verdict on it: It definitely wasn't bad but I was kinda disappointed. Lol I sound ironic but what I mean is that it is not worth the hefty price of the tickets that I had to pay(lol okay my dad had to pay), and the scenery was only so-so? Maybe I went at the wrong time( the leaves have not turned red yet), but the whole train trip I was almost seeing the same scenery. And the trip is kinda long! I basically spent my whole day(745am-10pm) sitting on the train, so you can imagine how painful that was. And to add on, I was having a crazy hard time booking the tickets online, cos everytime I tried to book a date they said it was sold out. You have no idea how many times I bought a ticket, cancelled it, change dates just to get the right dates. AND GUESS WHAT. The train was freaking empty when I went on it. My parents and I were the only people in my carriage. NO KIDDING. Can you imagine how pissed I was?! Feel my anger rising now as Im typing. BURNNNNNN.

Okay bad reviews and rants aside, I still took some nice pictures there so I shall post those and talk about happy stuff that happened on the trip. So basically after much confusion, I found out that the way to utilise the day well is to purchase 4 kinds of tickets; 1)Seoul to Jecheon (O-Train), 2) Jecheon to Cheolam (O-Train), 3) Cheolam to Buncheon (V-Train), 4) Buncheon to Seoul (O-Train).

Inside the O-Train! This is the family room. The train is themed!

Children's room!

My Train Oppa *-*

haha while on the train the staff went around getting people to take pictures with the hat. Look at my cute parents LOL.

Yangwon. One of the stopover stations! It is literally translated as $2 in chinese haha.

Chujeon station. The highest train station in Korea! (above sea level)

haha caught in the act trying to take a selfie!

V-Train!
Inside the V-Train! Pretty cool cos the train goes into the tunnel multiple times so the train will glow like this in the tunnel. Spot the photobomber hahah.

Buncheon station! Train transfer to V-train!
Mandatory tiger shot that people take when they come to Buncheon station.

Trying to set my my selfie stick and I unknowingly snapped a shot. Quite candid hor HAHAHA

So while in Buncheon we had to wait for 3 hours for our train back to Seoul. Me and my Dad were very bored and he started asking me to pose for pictures around there...Not that I am complaining HAHAH

That's about it! Din't take anymore pictures once we got on the train back to Seoul. Cos it was a freaking 5 hours ride and we were all too tired by then. Next week im off to Jeju! And midterms is the week after LOL YOLO nevermind play first worry later hahaha. #exchangepriorities

DMZ tour!

So le parents are finally here in Seoul! Haha and we decided to go on the DMZ tour. Okay actually I decided to go and pulled them along haha. I have always wanted to go and see the North Korea-South Korea border and learn more about the history but haven't got the chance to in my 3 previous trips to Korea. So I was determined to go this time!

We booked the DMZ and Panmunjeon full day tour! Note that this is the tour that covers everything, like it really brings you inside to see where North Korea and South Korea's military holds meetings etc etc. If you opt for the DMZ tour only, you will only get to see like the infiltration tunnel and nothing much else. So yupp, though a little more pricey (125,000w if booked online) I think it will definitely be more worth it.

So I went in to see one of the infiltration tunnels that North Korea supposedly built to invade into South Korea. It is about 25 stories deep underground and climbing down was a breeze but the climb up was CRAZYYYYY. Never ending slope that did't even have platforms to rest, the slope just continued upwards ahahha. And no pictures allowed there so I couldn't take any unfortunately. But it was a pretty cool experience! Actually most of the places there pictures are not allowed so there is nothing much for me to talk about LOL. I managed to take a picture with a North-Korean soldier though

Don't know how my Dad can take such a picture without realising its so not centralised-__- LOL.

All I can say is you should go for once to experience it for yourself since I can't take any pictures to show yall! The history between both sides is really interesting too! But considering how expensive it is, I don't think I will go back again haha. Experiencing these kind of things once is more than enough. :)

Hyeri Art Village

Impromptu trips always end up with surprises! The trip to Hyeri Art Village last weekend was no different. Decided a few days ago to go to this place somewhere in Paju, out of Seoul as we heard that the architecture is really beautiful. I wasn't really interested in going at first cos Im not a very artsy person, but decided to go anyway cos my friends were going and I was free too. haha well luckily I did go! The architecture there is really beautifulllll~~

We were supposed to take bus 2200 from Hapjeong station, but we read on some blog that bus 200 could go too. So as the queue for 2200 was really long, we decided to just take 200, which is supposedly a longer trip there as compared to bus 2200. Turns out the bus route has changed. *NOTE: Bus 200 no longer goes to Hyeri Art Village!!*

So we ended up reaching there at about almost 3pm. It is a 2 hours ride from Seoul, and we were tired and hungry but when we reached we were really blown away by the amazing architecture there that we kinda forgot all our tiredness haha. Ate lunch quickly and decided to explore the place!

Hyeri Art village happens to be the location for the filming of Boys over Flowers too! Remember the cafeteria scenes of the school in the show?? It was filmed at this cafe in Hyeri Art Village!

Hahah too bad the best pictures I could get of the inside was this. Cos we had to eat a meal in order to go into the restaraunt and one main course costs about 25,000w. Thats crazy for a meal considering how I am a University student and yall know how poor students can be...hahah yeap but we weren't gonna spend so much on a meal so we gave going in a miss. I swear if NUS is as beautiful as this I won't be going home anytime haha! It really feels so relaxing there I think it's super conducive for studying. Too bad its 2 hours from Seoul, if not I will go there to study everyday haha!

And there was this chocolate cafe that we read about online too. Tried their chocolate drink and omg it was really delicious. Think drinking melted chocolate bars. Yeap it's that thick and good but really sinfullll. And must spam water if not sure kena sore throat hahah.

And we also found the big chair that Naeun and Taemin sat in on We Got Married!

Hahah the number of pictures I had to take just to get a nice one LOL.

And on the way back to Seoul, we saw a beautiful sunset, really really beautiful~

You can never see this in Singapore man. I guess the only thing I have to complain about Singapore is the lack of these nature and scenery and seasons haha. But well Singapore makes up for all this in so many other ways! (Safety, clean, NO PUSHING AHJUMMAS, NO CLIMBING FLIGHTS OF STAIRS IN MRT hahahah) And the next time you want to complain about how far you have to walk to change trains at Dhoby Ghaut from NEL to NSL, try Korea's one first. One has to walk a thousand miles to transfer from one line to another. I always end up perspiring after I just bathe cos of all the stupid stairs and walking lol. I LOVE SINGAPORE!!:)
